Emergent fermions and surface states

Objective

Simulate domain walls between +σ_e and -σ_e regions and test the conjecture that they host all-fermion toric code surface states.

Theory

Domain wall tension:

\[ \sigma_{DW} \propto (K - K_c)^{\mu} \]

Conjecture: Wall excitations have fermionic self-statistics.

Tasks

• Create planar domain wall in T20 configurations
• Measure surface tension
• Test anyonic braiding statistics
• Verify fermionic exchange phases
